Lenovo technological giant creates regional center in Baku

The Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiev met with the delegation of the leading international technological company Lenovo led by the senior vice president of Lenovo ISG Wilfred Sotololo.

During the meeting, the head of the delegation gave extensive information about the company’s activities.

It was noted that Lenovo, which is engaged in the production of infrastructure solutions, servers, data storage systems and other modern technological equipment, operates in more than 180 markets.

The head of the delegation noted that the official representative office of the company operating in our country will be expanded and will become a regional center covering the territory of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. At the same time, proposals were announced to create a joint center for research and development in Azerbaijan.

Minister Rashad Nabiev, in turn, informed Lenovo representatives about the government of the government to improve the business climate for IT companies, in particular about creating a favorable environment to attract foreign investment. The minister noted that changes were prepared in tax, migration, customs legislation and to the law on social insurance. Thanks to these changes in the IT companies engaged in systemic integration and software development, they will receive significant privileges by working in Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that the other day in Baku, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, an event called Lenovo Day Baku took place, which was attended by representatives of international IT wedors and representatives of more than 200 delegates from the corporate sector from Azerbaijan. Participants discussed trends in the digital transformation of the business and existing problems in the region. As part of the event, successfully applied technological solutions and new business models were analyzed to support digital ecosystems of enterprises in Azerbaijan.
