Lithuania proposed to introduce fines for violation of sanctions against Russia and Belarus

Violators of the sanctions regime against Russia and Belarus should be punished by the full -of -the -course of fines.

The Assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was reported by Elta.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs registered a number of legislative acts offering new regulation and fines for legal entities that do not observe sanctions,” the report said.

These measures apply to restrictions on both international and national sanctions. The stipulated size of the fine is from 50% to 100% of the value of the transported goods, but not less than 10 thousand euros. In case of repeated violation or if the cost is more than 100 thousand euros, a fine of 5% of the annual income of a legal entity is assigned, but not less than 20 thousand euros with possible confiscation of cargo.

These measures are proposed to introduce from March 15 to the year with the possibility of extension or revision.
