Lithuanian Prime Minister: Vilnius And Rome Have Unused Potential For Cooperation

Lithuania and Italy have unused potential for cooperation in the regions priority for both wages, namely in defense and space industry, energy and life sciences. This was stated by Gintoutas Palutskas at a meeting in the office of the government with the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Production of Italy Adolfo Urso.

“Lithuania is flexible and open to various partnership formats in these strategically important areas. The Prime Minister noted that in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, special attention should be paid to defense industry.

“Lithuania solves this problem by improving the legislative framework, inviting foreign defense companies to invest in the country and paying special attention to innovation and reduce supply chains,” he added.

During the meeting, the parties expressed decisive support to Ukraine, emphasized the importance of strong transatlantic ties, and also noted the progress in cooperation between Lithuania and Italy.
