London wants to transfer frozen Russian assets to Kyiv

The UK plans to follow the example of Canada and approve the confiscation of frozen assets of Russians, to then transfer money to Ukraine, said the head of the British Foreign Ministry Liz, reports The Guardian.

“I support this concept. We are very carefully monitoring this. Canadians have actually just adopted the law, on which we are working together with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Finance, but I certainly agree with this idea. We just need to work out everything. Details of this issue, ”the British edition of the tracks quoted.

She did not exclude that the British parliament would need to adopt a new law that allows to carry out the plan. However, the minister added, it may be possible to do without it.

The newspaper notes that the withdrawn funds can be transferred either to private individuals in the form of compensation for damage or the Ukrainian authorities.
