The venue of the football match between the national teams of Qatar and Azerbaijan, scheduled for March 27, has been changed again.
Initially, the match was planned to be held in London. Then, due to the pandemic situation in England, the Qataris moved the game to the Austrian capital Vienna. And now the Qatar Football Association announces that the Qatar-Azerbaijan match will take place in Debrecen, Hungary.
The meeting will take place at the Nadierdei stadium, which can accommodate more than 20 thousand spectators. The change was due to strict travel procedures between European countries, which required moving the game from Austria to another country. The Qatar national team will play three of their March matches in Debrecen – against Luxembourg, Azerbaijan and Ireland.
Let us remind that in March the Azerbaijani national team will start in the qualifying tournament of the 2022 World Cup. On March 24, our team will play in the Italian Turin with Portugal, on March 27 – there will be a game in Debrecen with Qatar, and on March 30 – in Baku with Serbia. The game with Portugal was moved from Lisbon to Turin due to the pandemic.
As you know, the Qatar national team has been invited to our qualifying group on an out-of-competition basis to better prepare for the 2022 home world championship. UEFA has announced in advance that Qatar will host its home matches in Europe.
