Lukashenko: Nuclear weapons will be applied in response to aggression against Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a working trip to the Minsk region called the conditions for the possible use of nuclear weapons from the territory of Belarus.

According to Western media, Russia seeks to place tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus to the NATO summit, which will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12, and these actions are interpreted as “an attempt by nuclear blackmail,” Belta notes.

The President was asked why Belarusian nuclear weapons and what are the conditions for its storage and use. “Russia is not striving for nothing. It’s not a matter of Russia,” Lukashenko answered.

He emphasized that the placement of nuclear weapons in Belarus was his request and an urgent requirement for the Russian side to guarantee the country’s security.

The head of state assured that there would be no hesitation in the issue of the use of nuclear weapons in response to aggression.

Speaking about the reasons for the placement of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, the president said: “Why do you need it? So that not a single leg of some scum has a bastard on the Belarusian land.” And the reason for the use of such weapons, he said, can only be one – aggression against Belarus. “And the answer will be immediate. I have said this several times in advance,” the Belarusian leader added.

Having emphasized the significant power of the nuclear weapon that will be placed in Belarus, the head of state said: “I think, it is unlikely that anyone will want to fight with the country that has such a weapon. This is a deterrence weapon.”

However, the situations when it would have to be applied, of course, would like to avoid it. “God forbid, I will have to make a decision to use this weapon in modern times. But there will be no hesitation, if only aggression is against us,” Lukashenko emphasized.
