Lukashenko stated unreasonable requirements for withdrawal of PMC “Wagner” from Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called unreasonable and stupid demands of the leadership of Poland and the Baltic countries to withdraw Wagner from Belarus.

This was said by Lukashenko at a meeting of the Security Council in Minsk, BelTA reports.

Lukashenko said that the leadership of Poland and the Baltic countries “escapes hysteria” about the presence of Wagner militants in Belarus.

“They kicked to the point that they already require an immediate withdrawal of them from Belarus. At the same time, they themselves increase military budgets, pull large military formations to our borders,” he said.

According to him, neither in Poland, nor in Lithuania, nor in other countries of the Baltic, there should be not a single foreign soldier. “Then we can make claims about the presence of military personnel from other countries here. In the meantime, these are unreasonable and stupid demands,” Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko said that the tense situation in the world and directly near the Belarusian borders, sanctioned pressure “do not make it possible to be absolutely calm and confident in tomorrow.”

“NATO countries persistently promote the policy of their expansion, increase the military presence around Belarus, constantly conduct provocative exercises on our borders, and other actions,” he said.

“They justify their actions with certain threats that are allegedly emanating from the territory of Belarus. The leadership of Poland and the Baltic countries accuses Belarus of certain mythical aggressive intentions that have never been and cannot be,” added Lukashenko.
