The American law firm Akin Gump made a consultant to LUKOIL at the acquisition of the 15.5 percent share of Malaysian Petronas in the Shah Deniz gas condensate deposit project. According to Turan, this is stated in akin gump statement.
The amount of the transaction is $ 2.25 billion. The completion of this operation depends on the implementation of certain preconditions, as well as the consent of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. The appropriate agreement on this process was signed on October 7, 2021.
Upon completion of the transaction, the share of LUKOIL in the Shah Deniz project will reach 25.5 percent.
Other shareholders of the Shah-Denise project are BP (28.8 percent), TPAO (19 percent), SOCAR (10 percent), NICO (10 percent) and SGC (6.7 percent).
