Macron accused Russia of “predatory” influence on Africa

French President Emmanuel Macron accused Russia of feeding anti -French propaganda in Africa. The French president said this on the sidelines of the summit of the French -speaking countries in Tunisia, writes Reuters.

According to him, Moscow does this to satisfy “predatory” ambitions in troubled African countries, where Paris has suffered military failures in recent years and has significantly lost influence.

“This perception is fed by others, this is a political project. I am not a fool, many influential persons who are sometimes speaking in your programs receive money from Russians. We know it,” said Emmanuel Macron to journalists.

“A number of states that want to spread their influence in Africa do this to harm France, harm its language, to sow doubts, but first of all they persecute certain interests. It is enough to take a look at what is happening in the Central African Republic or in others places to see that the Russian project, which is implemented there when France is pushed aside, is a project of predation. This is done with the complicity of the Russian military junta, ”says the head of France.
