The Council of Managements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) approved a resolution criticizing Iran for insufficient cooperation and failure to fulfill obligations to fully declare all types of nuclear material.
The resolution was represented by the USA, France, Great Britain and Germany. 19 executive council countries voted for her. Russia, China and Burkina-Faso opposed, and 11 countries abstained.
The document contains strict criticism of Iran nuclear activity, in particular for the lack of adequate response to numerous calls for cooperation by the agency.
The resolution also emphasizes that the agency has encountered difficulties in checking the lack of military purpose of nuclear material, which is one of the key requirements of the contract for non -proliferation of nuclear weapons (day) signed by Iran in 2019.
Magate expressed regret in connection with Iran’s inability to fully fulfill obligations under the guarantee agreement, despite repeated calls from the Council.
According to Article 19 of the Agreement on Comprehensive Guarantees, the agency could not confirm that the nuclear material subject to international control was not aimed at developing nuclear weapons or explosive devices.
The resolution emphasizes deep concern that the director of the IAFAEL Mariano Grossy cannot guarantee the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program. This context emphasizes that the issue may relate to the competence of the UN Security Council as a body responsible for maintaining international peace and security.
IAEA called on Iran to fulfill legal obligations and take urgent measures. In particular, the agency called for “providing plausible technical explanations about the particles of uranium of human origin discovered at two un -given objects, notify the agency about the current location of nuclear material or polluted equipment, transfer all the requested documents, information and answers, provide access to the necessary objects and materials, allow the samples to select”.
