Many countries continue to evacuate citizens from Sudan

Many countries of the world continue to evacuate diplomatic missions and their citizens from Sudan, where on April 15, armed clashes between the army and the forces of quick response (SBR).

over 50 countries, including Turkey, USA, China, Russia, Great Britain, France, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and Egypt, organized the evacuation of citizens by sea, air and land.

The Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu said that Ankara evacuated 2,061 people from Sudan, of which 1763 were Turkish subjects, and 298 – citizens of 22 countries.

The head of the diplomatic mission noted that the Sudan authorities proposed to temporarily transfer the Turkish Embassy from Hartum to Port Sudan, promising to allocate the diplomatic mission to the new building. “In fact, we have already decided, because we can’t take risks. If the conflict is exacerbated, it will be difficult to get out of the capital. We are considering the possibility of temporary transfer of the embassy to Port Sudan,” the head of diplomacy said.

Azerbaijan

The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan reported that 26 citizens of the republic were evacuated from Sudan with the support of Turkey.

USA

Assistant to the press secretary of the US State Department Vedant Patel said on May 1 that three motorcons arrived in Port Sudan on April 29, the US government rendered assistance to more than 700 American citizens.

Patel noted that the US authorities work every hour to evacuate citizens as soon as possible.

Russia

Russia announced the evacuation of over 200 Russian diplomats and ordinary citizens from Sudan, where battles have been going on for the third week.

The French Foreign Ministry reported on April 27 that 936 people were evacuated from Sudan.

Egypt
