Matvienko: World religions must combine forces to confront radicalism

Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko said that the elimination and self -removal of traditional religions from the role of the regulator of social relations causes an increase in the aggressiveness of radicals and the norms that were previously unacceptable are becoming the norm.

Matvienko wrote about this on the blog posted on the official website of the chamber.

To confront this, it is necessary to unite the efforts of all world religions, Matvienko noted.

“Liberal games with tolerance, elimination, and sometimes self -removal of traditional religions, their organizations from the role of a regulator of social relations and moral norms, objectively cause only an increase in aggressiveness of various kinds of minorities and radicals. They declare a new norm that it was quite recently considered quite rightly considered pathology. In order to successfully confront this, all world religions, I think, must combine efforts, ”she wrote.

Matvienko noted that if in Sweden such an act of vandalism as the public burning of the Qur’an is “considered permissible, does not cause indignation and public condemnation, it is actually committed with the consent of the authorities”, then in Russia disrespect for the Holy Books and any other shares that generate Inter -religious discord is a criminal offense.

Matvienko stated that the West chose a different path: they abandoned traditional, consecrated by world religions of family, social, political and moral values. “Those on which modern civilization stands. Rather, it is still worth it,” said Matvienko.

“The future of mankind depends not only and not so much on the level of development of technology, economics, social sphere, but primarily on spiritual and moral values that determine the meaning of being. Their correct choice is today, I think, the task of the day, and its solution It can only give a dialogue, not rivalry, ”the Speaker of the Council is sure.

On the first day of the holiday of Kurban in Stockholm, a native of Iraq named Salvan Momik burned a copy of the Qur’an. In the area of the anti -Islamic campaign, police security was provided.
