Meeting of heads of Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia was held in Moscow

On July 25, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jahun Bayramov in Moscow held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, and then a tripartite meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the meetings discussed the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

According to the report, Bayramov once again brought to the attention of the participants of the meetings of Azerbaijan regarding the current situation in the region, as well as in connection with threats and illegal actions by Armenia regarding the steps taken by Azerbaijan to establish peace and security in the region, and military provocations, including the creation of obstacles to the aircraft flight. Jaykhun Bayramov emphasized that the allegations of the “humanitarian catastrophe” in the region are completely groundless, they are political speculations.

Azerbaijan Foreign Minister noted that the measures taken against the use of the Armenia of the Lachinsky road for military purposes, as well as the illegal export of the natural resources of Azerbaijan, contrary to the obligations enshrined in a tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, are the sovereign right of Azerbaijan. Jaykhun Bayramov added that the creation of the Lachin checkpoint on the state border was a necessary measure for Azerbaijan. The minister emphasized that, despite the fact that from the moment of the start of the checkpoint, all conditions were created for the transparent, safe and ordered passage of the Armenian residents of Karabakh in both directions, a provocation committed by Armenia against the border checkpoint on June 15, created obstacles to crossing the border by Armenian residents. According to Jaykhun Bayramov, the Azerbaijani side currently provides the pass of the Armenian residents through the border checkpoint for medical purposes.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister recalled that, despite the fact that the Azerbaijani side put forward a number of proposals, including the use of the Agdam-Hankendi road and other alternative roads to meet the needs of the Armenian residents, the fact that these proposals were not accepted by the Armenian side, indicates their insidious intentions, and allegations of a humanitarian situation in the region are a political span.

Jehun Bayramov emphasized that the cessation of attempts to intervene in measures to reintegrate Armenians living in sovereign Azerbaijani territories, unconditional confirmation of Armenia in the words and in fact of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territories of the Armenian armed forces, which, which are contrary to the obligations taken Armenia is still present on the territory of Azerbaijan, are the most necessary conditions for ensuring peace in the region.
