Memorandum Of Spain Of Turkish Aircraft Hürjet Was Signed

In Madrid, a memorandum of understanding has been signed, which opens the way for exporting to Spain Hürjet training aircraft to the Turkish aerospace company Tusaş.

Hurjet is the first reactive training and light combat aircraft fully developed in Turkey.

The memorandum also includes plans to create an infrastructure in Spain for the joint production of the aircraft.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defense of Turkey Mus Hibeet and Suay Alpai, Turkish Ambassador to Madrid Nouket Kuchukel Ezbergi, CEO of Tusaş Mehmet Demiroglu, General Director of the Department of Strategy and Innovation of the defense industry of Spain Miguel Ivorra and other officials.

“Today is a very significant day. Today, Türkiye has once again demonstrated its power in military aircraft to the whole world,” Suay Alpai told the Anadolu agency.

He also called today “special” for Turkey, Spain and all of Europe. “This is a really special and valuable day. Against the background of events taking place in the world, everyone has already realized that Europe could not move further without Turkey. Today’s agreement is a specific sign of this. It should be considered as a signal rocket,” he said.

The agency’s interlocutor emphasized that “without Turkey, the security of Europe is at risk.”

Pointing to the important role of Spain in the framework of NATO Alpai noted that this is making an agreement on Hurjet even more significant. “Today’s geopolitical situation and processes again demonstrate how important and strong the position of Turkey is in connection with its potential,” he summed up.
