The number of deaths as a result of floods caused by tropical storms “Priscilla” and “Raymond” in Mexico has increased to 76, another 39 people are on the list of missing.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum published such data on her page on the social network of the American company X.
The head of state personally visited the town of Pantepec in the state of Puebla, one of the hardest hit areas. “We informed the population about measures to restore roads, deliver additional humanitarian aid and assess the damage by national services. We will not leave anyone behind, you are not alone,” Sheinbaum emphasized, assuring residents of the government’s support.
On the same day, the president inspected the flooded areas of Huehuetla and Tianguistengo from a helicopter in the state of Hidalgo.
According to Mexican media, as a result of one of the largest floods in recent years, more than 250 thousand people were affected, more than 50 thousand houses were damaged.
