Military announced coup in Gabon

A group of high -ranking officers in Gabon made on national television with a statement about the seizure of power.

This happened after the Gabona Electoral Center (CGE) confirmed the re -election in the election on August 26 of the current President Ali Bongo officially for a third term. According to CGE, the politician gained 64.27% of the vote.

The military announced the cancellation of the results of the presidential elections and the dissolution of the institutions of the authorities, as well as the closure of all the borders of the country “before the further notification”

The rebels expressed the intention to “put an end to the current regime.”
