Military equipment for opening Ukrainian ports is on way to Kyiv

The part of the military equipment that is necessary to unlock the ports has already been sent to Ukraine. This, as TASS writes, said on Monday the Foreign Minister of Lithuania Gabrielus Landsbergis before the meeting of the leaders of the EU foreign policy in Luxembourg.

“To open ports in the south of Ukraine, she needs military equipment. Part of it is already in the process of delivery. Unfortunately, there are no other ways to unlock the ports. If the countries of Europe provide the necessary equipment, then the issue with the food crisis will be solved very quickly,” – he said. The broadcast was conducted on the European Commission.

Landsbergis indicated that it would not be called specific countries that were sent or ready to transfer the necessary equipment to Ukraine. “But I know that the requests for its supplies were sent to a number of states, our large and smaller allies. Equipment is necessary there to restrain Russia. So that it cannot attack the courts at the exit of the ports,” he said.

The head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry also noted that any alternative routes for grain delivery from Ukraine are not practical enough. “We are talking about tens of thousands of tons of grain. And in fact, the only way of delivery is the Black Sea,” Landsbergis said. The ports of neighboring countries, he said, contribute to the process of grain delivery, but the transported volumes transported by them are extremely limited. “
