Minister Nabii about new technologies used in fight against COVID-19 pandemic

The 18th Round Table of Ministers of Science and Technology, in which more than 50 countries took part in a virtual format. “Round Table” is a high-level meeting of the science and technology forum in society (STS).

Forum, established in November 2004 in Kyoto (Japan), is intended to provide a new mechanism for open discussions on an informal basis on issues resulting from the introduction of science and technology.

The Minister of Transport, Communication and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev, who took part in the 18th round table “of Azerbaijan, spoke about new technologies used in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic created by digital platforms in our country:” These Solutions cover virtual medicine, virtual education, video conference system and a special electronic platform that allows people to leave their homes during the quarantine regime. “

It was noted that after the Patriotic War, which lasted 44 days, the Azerbaijani army liberated the Earth, almost thirty years under Armenian occupation. The country has a long process of restoring liberated territories, and one of the main strategic directions of the vision of the future president Ilham Aliyev is to build a “creative and innovative society”, part of which is the development of science and technology. This will be carried out on the basis of extensive research, development of the ecosystem of startups and the introduction of innovative solutions.

It was emphasized that today countries cannot make a real jerk in any area without opening the doors for international cooperation. Azerbaijan welcomes a model of cooperation with large transnational companies investing not only in infrastructure, but also in human capital, especially in the construction of research laboratories for the development of specialists in the country.

On the “Round Table” also noted that the digital transformation of the government, the economy and society in Azerbaijan is a strategic necessity and one of the driving forces of modernization and development.
