The Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity of Libya announced the ceasefire in all areas in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, where there were a clash. This is stated in the written statement of the Libyan department, published on social networks.
“Regular forces in coordination with the relevant security agencies began to take the necessary measures to ensure calm, including the deployment of neutral troops at contact points in order to ensure stability and prevent clashes in the field,” the publication.
The statement also calls for all parties to fully observe the ceasefire.
In addition, a call was called to avoid provocative statements and stop any activity in the field.

The UN Mission to support in Libya (MoonPL) called for the unconditional end of fire in all areas where the civilian population is located, as well as to solve disagreements through dialogue.
On the morning of May 14, clashes occurred between the “RADA”, one of the influential groups of the militia in the capital, and government forces. In different parts of Tripoli, smoke rose over some buildings.
The RADA militia group has long controlled the Mitig International Airport, but last year it withdrew part of its forces from the harbor under pressure from the government.
