Russian air defense (air defense systems) from 20.00 on May 20 to 4.05 on May 21 intercepted and destroyed 127 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of aircraft type over a number of regions. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Wednesday, May 21.
According to 41 UAVs, 37 UAVs were interpreted above the territory of the Bryansk region, over the territory of the Oryol region, 31 UAVs – above the territory of the Kursk region, six UAVs over the territory of the Moscow region, five UAVs above the territory of the Vladimir region, three UAVs above the territory of the Ryazan region, one BPL – above the territories of the Belgorod, Tula, Kaluga regions and above the water area of the Black Sea.
“In the period from 4.00 to 8.00 Moscow time, 32 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type were destroyed by air defense systems: 16 UAVs – above the territory of the Oryol region, 10 UAVs – above the territory of the Bryansk region and six UAVs above the territory of the Kursk region,” – follows from the message.
A number of Ukrainian telegram channels report that the Bolkhovsky Plant of Semiconductor Devices fell under the blow of an UAV in the Oryol region.
Earlier, the regional governor Andrei Klychkov said that the air defense forces worked until the early morning and, in addition to 11 drones, 26 UAVs were destroyed according to the updated information, in general, 37 UAVs per day.
“Additional information – during the morning, another 16 enemy UAVs were destroyed over the Oryol region. The consequences of a mass attack are specified, operational inspections are conducted,” Klychkov said in the last message.
