The department noted that 19 of the operations carried out in the north of Iraq and Syria were large -scale. Moreover, 21 of them were carried out during the last week.
In general, from July 24, 2015, when Turkey began a new stage in the fight against terrorism, 38,137 terrorists were liquidated in the region.
Turkish Ministry of Defense emphasized that Ankara has always shown respect for the territorial integrity and unity of all neighboring states, and the operations of the Turkish Armed Forces are carried out in accordance with the recognized right to self -defense and purely in order to eliminate the threat of terrorism.
Turkey’s Ministry of Defense further attracted attention to the situation in Syria in the light of the results of four -sided negotiations carried out on April 25, 2023 in Moscow with the participation of representatives of Turkey, Iran, the Russian Federation and the regime of Bashar al -Assad.
The ministry noted that today the work on the creation of a four -sided joint center in the north of Syria continues, which will include military from four sides. This center is designed to coordinate the actions of the military in the field, explained in Ankara.
