Passing over the past day through the territory of Turkey of Cyclones and the related cold atmospheric fronts caused rainy weather on most of Azerbaijan, said the head of the National Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Umayr Tagiev.
According to Tagieva, in some areas of Azerbaijan, mainly in mountainous and foothills, the precipitation was plentiful and intense: “In areas located in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus – in Balaken, Gaha, Gazhatal, Sheki, Ogu, the dimensions fell up to 57 % of the monthly rainfall “.
Umayra Tagieva also noted that the result of heavy rains increased the water level in the rivers of Azerbaijan: “The water level in the rivers rose from 23 cm to 49 cm.”
The representative of the Ministry of Ecology added that snow fell in the highlands: “The height of the snow cover in Shahdag reached 18 cm.”
