The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan expressed deep concern and regret about the inclusion of a number of Tajik banks in the sanctions list.
“On October 23, 2025, the Council of the European Union adopted another package of sanctions, which also covers the activities of a number of banks and companies from third countries, including Tajikistan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan is deeply concerned and regrets the inclusion of some banks of Tajikistan in this sanctions list list,” follows from the publication.
The Tajik department emphasized that “The Republic of Tajikistan adheres to its international obligations and is always ready to interact with international partners to jointly prevent risks associated with possible circumvention of sanctions measures.”
“The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is comprehensively studying and monitoring the current situation, and is also taking the necessary measures to minimize the negative consequences that these sanctions may entail,” the statement concluded. Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, on October 23, the Council of the European Union approved a new, 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions. It is noted that the sanctions list includes three Tajik banks – Dushanbe City Bank, Spitamen Bank and Commerzbank of Tajikistan.
