Employees of the State Environmental Safety Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources checked information about the emissions of granules of plastic on the Apheron beaches of Fatmai and Goradil, the press service of the ministry said.
According to Haqqin.az in the ministry, when examining the site, it was found that the granules are raw materials intended for the production of polyethylene.
According to the representative of the civil service of Vagif Javadov, specialists of domestic enterprises for the production of polyethylene materials polluted by plastic waste. The audit showed that the raw materials thrown ashore were produced by Azerbaijani enterprises. According to the preliminary version, plastic granules fell into the water when transporting goods by sea, and due to windy weather they were thrown ashore and scattered about 1000 meters along the coastline.
According to V. Javadov, the territory on which plastic particles are scattered is currently cleaned with employees of the municipality of the Binagadinsky district.
