Minsk and Islamabad are interested in intensification of bilateral ties

Belarus and Pakistan confirmed the interest in the intensification of a complex of bilateral relations.

According to the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik on Monday on February 12 met with Pakistan Ambassador to Minsk Sajad Haider Khan.

A exchange of congratulatory messages was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan (February 3, 1994).

The parties stated over the past three decades a high level of Belarusian-Pakistani connections.

A special emphasis is on the results of cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in the trade and economic sphere. The positive dynamics of the interaction of the two countries in international organizations was noted.

The Belarusian side expressed gratitude to Pakistan for supporting the application of Belarus to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the operational ratification of the Memorandum about obligations in order to obtain the status of the SCO member state. The issues of interaction in all measurements of the SCO

were discussed.

The interlocutors outlined work plans for 2024, including the exchange of visits, holding intermedia up consultations and a number of thematic events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The mutual interest in the intensification of the entire complex of bilateral relations between Belarus and Pakistan is confirmed.
