Mirziyoev took office

Shavkat Mirziyoyev took office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The politician took the oath at a joint meeting of the Legislative Chamber and Senate Oli Mazhlis (Parliament) of the Republic.

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Zainiddin Nizamkhodzhaev, handed the presidential certificate to Mirziyuyev.

Then the elected president, putting his hand at the same time on the constitution and the Qur’an, said the text of the oath.

“I am solemnly swearing to faithfully serve the people of Uzbekistan, strictly follow the constitutions and laws of the republic, guarantee the rights and freedoms of citizens, conscientiously fulfill the obligations assigned to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” said Mirziyoyev.

“Highly, the symbols of our dear homeland and independence are the state flag, the anthem and the coat of arms, as well as the president’s higher sign and standard handed to me,” the president continued.
