Moldova and Romania will bind new power transmission line with length of 158 km

In Moldova on Friday, March 29, the construction of the air transmission line (power transmission line) of 400 kV Vulcaneshta-Kishinev, which will pass through the Gagauzia and Tarakli, Kagul, Lovsky, Khimishi, Khinchestsky and Yalovensky districts, Moldavian State Distributions reported.

The construction of a line with a length of 158 km will cost 27 million euros. Moldova President Maya Sandu and Minister of Energy Viktor Parlikov visited the construction site in the village of Kongaz, where the construction of power lines will begin.

“This is undoubtedly one of the most important projects from the moment of acquisition of independence, which is a turning point between two stages: Moldova, vulnerable to those who can turn off gas or electricity at their request, and independent Moldova, free to choose, Where to buy electricity, at the best price and without the pressure of political blackmail from the outside, ”her press service quoted the president.

The head of state clarified that this project was postponed for decades, since previous governments did not want to free Moldova from blackmail and energy dependence.

“Only in September 2019, the project was approved by the government. The power line, the construction of which begins in Kongaz, crosses 8 districts for 158 km and will be completed in 2025. Work is also underway on the next three connecting lines with Romania and Ukraine: Balti-Suchava, Steschehen-Gutinash and Vulcaneshta-Arciz, Odessa Region, ”said President Sandu.

The air transmitted power line of the Vulcaneshta-Kishinevi involves the construction of 511 supports to support and length the high-voltage power line. They plan to complete construction work by 2025.
