Moldova parliament denounced three more agreements with CIS

The Moldova parliament denounced three more agreements concluded in the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), according to Thursday, February 29, Moldipress.

For bills presenting the denunciation of agreements, Moldovan deputies voted in the second reading.

In particular, a proposal was considered on denunciation of an agreement on the principles of ensuring the aircraft of the CIS countries by weapons, equipment, material resources, the organization of production activities of repair enterprises, research and development work signed in Minsk on February 14, 1992.

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova believe that the denunciation of the agreement is due to its inapplicability and irrelevant, as well as the fact that Chisinau does not interact in the military-political sphere within the CIS.

A agreement on groups of military observers and collective forces to maintain peace in the CIS, signed in Kiev on March 20, 1992, and the protocol on the temporary order of the formation and involvement of groups of military observers and collective forces to maintain peace in conflict zones between states and the In the CIS member states signed by the Republic of Moldova on August 4, 1992.

The Ministry of Defense considers it inappropriate to preserve the participation of Moldova in this agreement, since Moldova does not interact within the CIS in the military-political sphere and de facto did not implement the provisions of this agreement. Also, the states participating in this agreement are simultaneously participants in the UN Charter, which, from the point of view of international law, has priority.

In addition, the deputies examined the proposal to denunciate the agreement of the CIS member countries on cooperation for the technical and material support of the competent authorities in the fight against terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism.

The denunciation of the document is motivated by the lack of cooperation in this segment with the Contracting Parties, as well as the fact that the information and security service did not enjoy the provisions of the agreement, which makes it inappropriate to maintain the Moldova status of a member in this agreement.
