Moldova wants to sign a gas contract with Azerbaijan

“Moldova is considering the possibility of signing a long -term contract for gas supply with Azerbaijan.” This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Andrei Pypin, speaking on Moldavian television.

According to him, the Moldova government is preparing for emergency situations and discussing the signing of a long -term contract for the supply of gas with Romania and Azerbaijan.

Deputy Prime Minister noted that Moldova is connected to the European community of main network operators in the field of electric power industry, and this gives more opportunities, including the purchase of Romania or other EU countries, but at very high prices.

“Moldova has stocks of 35 million cubic meters of gas, which will be enough for a maximum of 10 days in winter. However, this period is enough for the authorities to find gas from other sources in the event of an emergency situation,” said the sigh.
