President of Mongolia Ukhnaigi Huralsukh held official negotiations with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, who arrived in Mongolia on a state visit.
According to the Montsame agency, during the official negotiations of the head of Mongolia and the Austrian Republic, they discussed the current state and achievements in the development of traditionally friendly relations between the two countries based on common values - democracy, human rights and the rule of law. The parties expressed satisfaction with the expansion of bilateral cooperation in various fields, including politics, economics, trade, investment, science, education and social sphere.
Presidents considered the possibilities of interaction in the implementation of priority areas of the long -term development strategy of Mongolia “Vision 2050”, as well as national programs “Food Security” and “Billion Trees”. Particular attention was paid to the program “Presidential scholarships – 2100”.
The parties confirmed the intention to continue financial cooperation to support joint projects in infrastructure, health, water supply, waste management, agriculture, as well as in the field of social and human development.
A agreement was reached on the expansion of interaction in the field of water resources, the fight against dexterity and desertification, as well as promoting sustainable development. In this context, it is planned to use the Austrian experience in forestry, the formation of climate -resistant forests and sustainable forest resources management.
In addition, both sides expressed their readiness to activate cooperation in sectors such as mining and processing minerals, energy and digital transformation – through joint research, exchange of technologies and knowledge.
An important topic was support for the development of tourism, especially mountain and winter, including the creation of tourism products and training specialists in this area. The importance of strengthening scientific and research cooperation is emphasized, including the provision of opportunities for Mongolian students to get an education in Austria as part of the Presidential scholarship -2100 program, as well as the development of partnerships between the Academy of Sciences of the two countries.
Presidents of Mongolia and Austria confirmed their commitment to the joint implementation of initiatives in the international and regional arena, as well as participation in global efforts to combat climate change, desertification and loss of biodiversity.
