Mongolia And Italy Are Aimed At Further Developing Mutually Beneficial Cooperation

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and Italian President Sergio Mattarella held official talks in Rome.

As reported by MONTSAME, the two heads of state expressed satisfaction with the active development of relations and cooperation in many social and economic spheres thanks to their joint efforts.

The parties agreed that both countries attach particular importance to relations and cooperation, which during the visit were raised two levels to “Strategic Partnership”. The shared commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of trade, investment, agriculture, light industry, roads, transport, education, science, culture, sports, tourism and the media was confirmed.

The leaders of the two countries also discussed issues of strengthening cooperation within the UN and other international organizations and exchanged views on regional and international problems.

It was emphasized that, as countries sharing the common values of democracy, human rights, freedom and peace, Mongolia and Italy support the solution of any unresolved issues exclusively through dialogue.

Confidence was expressed in the implementation of agreements reached during official negotiations. President Sergio Mattarella accepted President Khurelsukh’s invitation to pay a state visit to Mongolia in 2026.

Mongolia and Italy established diplomatic relations in 1970. The Mongolian Embassy in Rome was opened in 2011, and the Italian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar – in 2016.
