112 carcasses of dead seals were found in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea. This was reported by the Kazinform agency with reference to the Department of Ecology of the Republic.
According to the report, specialists from the laboratory and analytical control department of the Department of Ecology in the Mangistau region took samples of sea water.
“Specialists from the laboratory and analytical control department of the Department of Ecology in the Mangistau region on November 3 of this year, based on a message received from residents about the identification of seal corpses on the sea coast of Bautino Tupkaragansky district, took samples of sea water on the coast of the settlements of Fort Shevchenko and Bautino, Tupkaragansky district,” the department said in a statement.
In addition, together with the fishery inspection department for the Mangystau region, during monitoring of the coastline of the Tupkaragansky district from the settlement of Asan to Cape Bautino, the carcasses of 112 Caspian seals were discovered.
In that including: from the settlement of Asan to the beach of the city of Fort Shevchenko – 39 carcasses, from the beach of the city of Fort Shevchenko to Cape Bautino – 73 carcasses.
