The number of children who died as a result of violence with firearms in the United States since the beginning of the year has increased to 1324. This is evidenced by the data of the Archive of violence using firearms (Gun Violence Archive), which daily collects information about armed incidents in the country from 7500 sources.
In particular, the number of children who died as a result of violence with firearms in the United States in the period from 2019 to 2021 increased by 50 percent.
It is reported that the mortality of children in the United States up to 18 years of age overtook incidents associated with traffic accidents.
According to the Gun Violence Archive website, the total number of people who died due to violence with the use of firearms in the United States has been 32,548 since the beginning of the year, and the victims – 28338.
It is noted that out of 1324 children who died as a result of armed attacks, 1096 were from 12 to 17 years old, and 230 – under the age of 11 years.
In general, 3570 children under the age of 18 were injured as a result of armed attacks over the past 9 months.
