More than 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported through Istanbul airports

Against the backdrop of coronavirus pandemia, operational and effective air transportation of goods became even more in demand.

This situation also affected the airports operating in Istanbul – one of the important world aviation centers.

Since the beginning of 2022, air traffic, including in the air harbors of the Turkish metropolis, has significantly activated due to the softening of anti -oral measures.

Harking flows at Istanbul airports for 9 months of this year amounted to 2,257,451 tons. From this volume 276,572 tons of cargo was transported in the inner direction, and 1 980 879 tons on international.

This follows from the data on the website of the Main Directorate of State Airports of Turkey (DHMI).

According to information, for the same period of 2022, this indicator amounted to 2,324,694 tons.

Since the beginning of this year, the growth of commercial flights at Istanbul airports has been going on.

Total from January to September 2023, 373 951 commercial flights, 95,767 internal flights and 278 184 international flights were completed from the Istanbul Airport.

During the same period last year, 306,324 commercial flights were completed at this airport.

In January-September, 77,555 internal and 88 0 92 international commercial flights were completed from the Sabiha Gekchen International Airport.

For the period under consideration, 165,647 commercial flights were made from the air harbor. Over the same period last year, the number of commercial flights organized at this airport amounted to 145 thousand 101.

Over the same period last year, at the Airport of Ataturk, a total of 1322 commercial flights was made.
