More than 60 million manat returned to population through Birbank

In May 2020, the return of VAT paid by consumers, individuals, for goods acquired at retail and catering facilities (with the exception of oil and gas products). The return of 15% of the VAT amount with cashless calculations and 10% VAT is provided when paying in cash. The main goal of the project presented in March last year is to increase transparency in the tax system, as well as stimulating non-cash payments.

Despite the fact that from the moment of launching the project passed only a year and a half, 100 million manat was already reimbursed to the population. Approximately 60 million from this amount returned through Birbank, the most popular mobile banking application of the country, and 40 million – through the portal https://edvgerial.kapitalbank.az/.

The first financial partner of this project was Kapital Bank and the Birbank mobile application. For greater ease of use in the Bonuses menu, the Birbank application has been created by a special section “ədv geri al” (“Return VAT”). With the Birbank QR service, you can scan the code on the check and add information to the portal faster and more convenient way.

In addition, the funds placed on the virtual “wallet” via Birbank can be transferred to payments of local banks or used in non-cash calculations. To do this, in the Birbank application you need to register on the same number as on the portal.

It should be noted that the consumer must submit a request to return the part of the VAT through the portal https://edvgerial.kapitalbank.az/ or the Birbank application within 90 days after receiving the check of the cash register. 12-digit fiscal check code need to be entered into an electronic office on the portal or scan the QR check through the Birbank application.
