Moscow accuses European Union: Europeans “can oust Russia from Transcaucasia”

The European Union wants to oust Russia from Transcaucasia and is trying to wedge into the tripartite work of Moscow with Baku and Yerevan. Such a statement in an interview with the Russian media was made by the director of the fourth department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry Denis Gonchar.

According to him, the EU activated his actions against the background of the anti -Russian “sanctions campaign.”

A potter claims that in the EU “they do not even hide that the main goal is to supplant Russia from Transcaucasia.” He believes that these are “geopolitical games with a zero result.”

“All the fundamental assessments of the EU unceremonious attempts to wedge into our tripartite work with Baku and Yerevan were already given to Sergey Lavrov and the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova,” says the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On May 23, in Brussels, through the mediation of the head of the European Union Charles Michel, the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met. After that, Baku and Yerevan announced the creation of the border division commissions. On August 31, another tripartite meeting was held in Brussels, as a result of which the parties agreed to continue negotiations on the signing of a peace treaty.
