The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolai Shulginov, as part of the 24th meeting of the Forum of the Gaza Stores (FSEG) forum in Cairo, held a working meeting with the Minister of Oil Iran Javad Ouji, which, in addition to other issues, discussed the unification of the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran .
At the meeting, the parties affected the issues of interaction in the field of oil and gas, electric power industry. “Work continues to study the possibility of uniting the energy systems of Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. The first step should be the development of a technical and economic justification of the project,” Schulginov said.

The ministers also exchanged views on the idea of the formation of a large Caspian energy ring and discussed Tehran’s proposal to create committees of the Caspian states for cooperation in the field of oil and gas, as well as electric power industry.
