Moscow and Tehran discussed Russian-Iranian cooperation in field of security

Secretary of the Security Council (SB) of Russia Nikolai Patrushev and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Akbar Akhmadiyan, discussed a wide range of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the field of security.

“The emphasis is on the interaction of security councils, law enforcement agencies and special services of the two countries. Special attention is paid to the fight against terrorism, information security issues, the problems of ensuring the economic security of Russia and Iran in the conditions of the sanctioned pressure of the Western countries, as well as counteracting attempts to intervene in internal the cases of sovereign states. The development of a new bilateral comprehensive long -term contract is affected. It is emphasized that the conclusion of this fundamental document will give a powerful impetus to further increase in mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas, ”the press service of the apparatus of the SB of the Russian Federation said.

In addition, global and regional trends, as well as the upcoming bilateral and multilateral contacts in the security councils of Russia and Iran, were considered in the conversation. The schedule of activities of the working groups of the Councils of the two countries on issues representing mutual interest is agreed.

The parties noted that the relations of Russia and Iran continue to strengthen and go to a qualitatively new level throughout the spectrum of directions. Confirming the practice of the practical implementation of the achieved agreements at the highest level.
