Moscow announced “geopolitical background” of EU decision to deploy mission in Armenia

Brussels’ decision on the deployment of the so -called civilian mission in Armenia has a distinct geopolitical background that does not contribute to real stabilization in the South Caucasus.

This was announced in a telephone conversation with the special representative of the EU in the South Caucasus Toyvo Klaar by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Galuzin, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement

Galuzin also emphasized the lack of consensus on this initiative between Baku and Yerevan.

The message notes that the parties discussed the topic of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
