In the capital of Moscow, an event was held on the occasion of the “Day of Democracy and National Unity of Turkey”, celebrated on July 15.
Turkish Ambassador to Russia Tanzhu Bilgich and the embassy employees took part in the ceremony held at the Turkish Embassy in Moscow.
During the program that began with a minute of silence on the dead on July 15, a state anthem was heard and a video was demonstrated about the events of July 15.
The Ambassador to his speech recalled that 9 years ago Türkiye faced an attempt to a bloody coup planned by the Feto terrorist organization:
“This vile terrorist attack, directed against our people, democracy, national will, parliament and all our national values, was eliminated thanks to the spirit of the unity and solidarity of our nation. The Turkish nation under the leadership of our president gave the necessary answer to the traitors, opposing tanks, rifles and bombs.”
According to him, July 15, for Turkey, was a test of character and strength: “Our duty is not to forget on July 15 and not allow it to be forgotten. July 15, determination, faith and self -sacrifice of our heroic martyrs should be an example and inspiration for all of us.”
Having emphasized that Fetö is a serious threat to national security for all countries and societies in which it operates, Bilgich noted that thanks to the international cooperation of Turkey, most Fetö structures in friendly countries were destroyed.
“Although its presence in Russia has been significantly reduced, we continue and will continue to work day and night to completely eradicate this organization in Russia,” he added.
After July 15, not a single state and the community dared to aim at Turkey
Advisor to the internal affairs of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow, Mustafa Ulukhan Baysal in his speech, stated that Fetö directly and openly attacked the sovereign rights of the Turkish people and the values of Turkey, making a treacherous attempt on the coup on July 15.
Stressing that this attack was prevented under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and thanks to the struggle and self -sacrifice of citizens, as well as the security forces and armed forces of Turkey, he continued: “After July 15, 2016, not a single state or community renounced directly or indirectly to the Turkish Republic.”
The adviser expressed gratitude to Russia and the Russian people for supporting the struggle of Turkey both during the War of Independence and during the attempt of the coup on July 15.
The ceremony ended with reading the collective prayer in memory of the victims of the coup.
