Moscow: found a changed Indian strain of Covid-19

In Moscow, a changed Indian strain of coronavirus infection appeared. This was announced by the director of the Gamalei Center Alexander Ginzburg, Interfax reports.

According to him, experts discovered a new type of COVID-19 in the capital. It is a changed variation of the “delta version” – an Indian strain, which is 40-60 percent of different other strains.

Ginzburg noted that there are currently research on the effectiveness of the Russian Satellite Vaccine Vaccine against the strain found in Moscow. In laboratory conditions, the drug has already shown efficiency, he added.

“If we are talking about efficiency (satellite vaccine V”) in laboratory conditions – there is a decrease of 1.4-2.4 times compared to serum received from Wuhan strains. This is not quite critical, “said Ginzburg.

The director of the Gamaley Center stressed that the Russian vaccine creates a large stock on the concentration of antibodies in the body and therefore gives protection from the Indian strain.

Due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection on June 12, the Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree on establishing non-working days from June 15 to June 19, with salary preservation. Also from June 13 to June 20, children’s playrooms will stop working in Moscow, food courts and zoos.

Restrictions on the work of public catering institutions and clubs are due to the fact that the authorities want to reduce the incidence of COVID-19 among young people, explained the head of the metropolitan department of trade and services Alexey Nemeryuk.
