Moscow: Ukrainian mathematician committed suicide

In Moscow, the Ukrainian mathematician Konstantin Olmezov committed suicide, who could not go home because of his arrest for 15 days. This was told by lawyer Dmitry Capture.

“MediaZona” writes that Olmezov came to Russia in 2018 and entered the Moscow Physics and Technology Institute (MIPT). He said that after the start of the war on February 24, I wanted to go to “defend my country”, but it was detained and sent to arrest.

“… I received that in the morning (March 20) he committed suicide, leaving a death note that leaves life because it cannot bear the horror of what is happening. Talented, promising mathematician. Olmez Konstantin”, – reported in his telegram Channel lawyer.

Ukrinform transfers that Olmezov published a suicide entry on the telegram channel along with its verses. After Russia’s invasion of Russia, the mathematician tried to leave the Russian Federation, but he was detained at the bus station in Moscow, and in two days they were arrested for 15 days on the administrative article “Small hooliganism” for the fact that he allegedly broke public order at the station. “I drove to defend my country, to defend from the one who wanted to pick it up with me,” wrote Olmez.

Ukrainian mathematician added that the incomplete for him is worse than death: “It hurts me for each side in this war, but I see my own eyes who protects his land, and who captures someone else’s. I see my own eyes who protect the right to be responsible For your own life, and who is an excuse of his own degradation … I’m leaving for nowhere. But it is no one to me, than reality, where a part of the people rolled into wildness, and the other part of this is potaky. “

Konstantin Olmezov was born in Ukraine. Since 2018, he lived in Russia, was engaged in an additive combinatorics – a branch of mathematics, which is not represented in Ukraine, writes the Ukrainian publication. After leaving the Special Forgency, Olmez received an invitation from the University of Austria, where I was going to go to continue learning. In a suicide note, he wrote that he leaves life because he could not bear the horror of what was happening. The post of Olmezova himself was attached to this post: his photo on the background of the lattice, as well as the signature to it: “I am in the Russian Federation, you do not let go. It is better in prison than observing. Ukrainians, trimaytsya! Glory to Ukraine!”.
