Mosquitoes Discovered For First Time In Iceland

Scientists have discovered mosquitoes for the first time in Iceland.

Three specimens of the species Culiseta annulata, known for its cold resistance, were found in the rural area of ​​Kjos near Hvalfjörður.

The insects were spotted by amateur entomologist Björn Hjatlason, who then donated the samples to the Icelandic Institute natural history.
