Mother And Daughter Together Master Traditional Turkish Firing From Onions

In the city of Bunyan, the province of Kaiseri, 37-year-old Irem Yalchin, accompanying her daughter Iranur Koshar to workouts at traditional Turkish shooting from onions, was carried away by this sport and eventually became a coach.

When the daughters were nine years old, Yalchin wrote her down on a course of traditional firing from onions, opened at the Center for the Education named after Shahid Onur Karasungur.

At first she simply watched classes, but soon she began to make the first shots and showed interest in this sport.

Since the coaches often changed in the know, Yalchin decided to get a professional education. In August 2024, she passed a weekly practical exam organized by the Federation of Traditional Turkish Firing from Luke, and received a certificate of the coach.

Later, Yalchin began to conduct her own classes at the Shahida school Jennet Yigit. Under the leadership, 11 athletes with a license won 4 cups and 10 medals at various competitions.

This sport awakens Turkish blood in me

Irem Yalchin said that her love of shooting began with the moment she began to take her daughter to classes.

“began with several trial shots, and then discovered a passion for this matter in herself. When my daughter became the champion of Kaiseri, I realized how talented she was and decided to follow in her footsteps. This sport arouses Turkish blood in me. Having become a coach, I took the matter in my own hands. Now I have an authority. I remember what I thought: ‘I can at least get closer to my daughter?’ And now I get support from her myself, ”said Yalchin.

Mom and I won many cups and medals

14-year-old Ikranur Koshar said that she was first carried away by firing from onions after watching one of the historical series. Since then, this sport has become part of her life.

“At first, my mother just stood behind me. Sometimes she made a couple of shots out of curiosity. Then she was told that it doesn’t work out that she could. She passed the exam and became a coach. Now we are training together. Mom and I won a lot of cups and medals in the competition,” she shared.

Koshar emphasized that she was very glad that she can learn from his own mother, adding that she dreams of getting into the national team and glorify his country and family.
