In the Baku Court of Crime, the trial ended with the 34-year-old resident Baku Asim Najafov, accused of killing his old friend, chemist Balaev.
According to haqqın.az, the murder occurred on December 31 last year. The reason was an unpaid debt. Najafov, angry after the next dispute on Balaev, who had owed him, came home to the latter and stabbed him asleep, inflicting 15 stab wounds, after which the man died on the spot.
The accused Asim Najafov found himself guilty of the charges against him. In his statement, he said that he worked in various fields, and since 2017 he left for Turkey and worked with his friend in a furniture workshop in Istanbul. Najafov came to Baku at the request of his mother, who wanted to marry him. A month later, the man was in prison for the murder. Najafov said that Balaev at one time asked him for 500 manats in debt, but did not return, bringing various prepositions. Later, the man found out that his friend was addicted to drugs. During the next dispute, Balaev scolded Najafov in a rude form, which, according to the accused, caused the murder. The father of the deceased, Nizameddin Balaev, said that he knew nothing about the duty of 500 manat, and added that Najafova did not forgive.
by the decision of the court Asim Najafov was sentenced to 16 years in a maximum security colony.
