NATO and Erdogan agreed to meet membership of Sweden and Finland

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced an agreement with Turkey President Tayyip Erdogan at the meeting of Turkey, Sweden and Finland on the topic of NATO membership in mid -March.

At the moment, Sweden and Finland’s applications in NATO have not ratified only two countries out of 30 – Hungary and Turkey. It is expected that negotiations with Turkey on ratification of the application of the northern countries will resume in the coming weeks.

“An agreement was reached with President Erdogan on the holding of a tripartite meeting between Turkey, Sweden and Finland in mid -March,” the Anadolu agency.

Earlier, the Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu reported that Ankara resumes a trilateral mechanism on Sweden and Finland in NATO, another meeting is expected in Brussels.
