NATO is concerned about situation in Georgia

NATO is concerned about the political situation in Georgia and expects Tbilisi to comply with democratic standards. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a press conference following a meeting in Brussels with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

“NATO is concerned about the situation in Georgia. NATO expects Georgia to observe democratic standards and resolve political difficulties through dialogue,” TASS quoted Stoltenberg as saying.

The Secretary General stressed that Georgia should continue to implement reforms. “We would like to see the settlement of these difficulties, and then to find a way out so that Georgia can continue to implement reforms,” Stoltenberg said, stressing that NATO supports the EU’s mediation efforts in this matter.
