Ankara is time to ratify Stockholm’s application to join NATO. This opinion was expressed in an interview with SVT by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg.
“I believe that the application should now be approved, and expressed it in Istanbul in conversations with the president and Turkish leadership,” he said.
Stoltenberg explained that both Sweden and Finland have already fulfilled an agreement concluded with Turkey at the NATO summit in Madrid last July.
Alliance Secretary General hopes and believes that Ankara soon ratifies Stockholm’s application, but does not know when the Turkish parliament will voiced the corresponding decision.
