NATO summit in Brussels on June 14, in which the President of the USA Joe Biden will take part for the first time, will be a record short for almost 20 years. As the NATO press service reported on Wednesday, it will consist of one working session with a duration of 2.5 hours, TASS reports.

“NATO Secretary General [Jens Stoltenberg] Formally welcome the heads of delegations [states] at 13:00. The Summit Working Session should begin at 13:30 and will last until 16:00. Secretary General will hold a final press conference at 16:15 “,” said the press service.

Thus, on the discussion about the new Strategic Concept of NATO for the next decade, the leaders of the 30th Alliance will be 150 minutes, less than five minutes per person, taking into account the introductory and final word of the Secretary-General of the Alliance, presiding for the summit. Usually NATO summits continue two days and consist of three or four working sessions for several hours each.

NATO was preparing for this summit since the completion of the elections in the United States was originally assumed that it would be held in March. However, the Alliance could not arrange for a long time for the summit with the participation of President Bayden, according to the official version, in connection with the constraints associated with the pandemic.
