NATO: We are not fighting with Russia, despite help of Ukraine

“NATO is not at war with Russia, despite the help provided to Ukraine.” This was announced in an interview with ERR by the head of the Military Committee of the Alliance Rob Bauer.

According to him, if “Russia attacked one of the member states of the Alliance, it would be clear that NATO would protect every na of the territory of its ally.”

“Then there will be a conflict of Russia and NATO. But until that moment, NATO is not fighting with Russia,” he said.

Bauer emphasized that it is very important that Ukraine remains a sovereign state and only to Ukraine decide how the war will end.

“NATO supports Ukraine and the inalienable right of Ukraine to defend itself. So it is recorded in the UN Charter. Therefore, it is legitimate that NATO members and more than 20 other countries support Ukraine. They support in all ways that they can,” the military added.
